The former Supergrass front-man Gaz Coombes has just released Matador, his second solo album, following up 2012's Here Come The Bombs. Super-talented Gaz played almost every instrument on the album himself. Most of it was recorded at his home, with the remainder at Courtyard Studios in Oxford.

Gruffydd Maredudd Bowen Rhys, is best known as the singer with Super Furry Animals, and more recently for his solo work.  He's released four solo albums to date, beginning with the Welsh language Yr Atal Genhedlaeth in 2005. More recently, 2014's American Interior, a concept album based on the life of 18th century exporer John Evans, was accompanied by a film, book and app of the same name. Gruff has also been part of Neon Neon, collaborated with Gorillaz, Simian Mobile Disco and Mogwai, and composed music for computer games and films.

Lauren Laverne hosts regular live music from her weekday 10.00am-1.00pm show on BBC Radio 6 Music.
