The Boy Scouts' Camp at Gosforth Park, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, was inspected by the Duke of Windsor, as Prince of Wales, in 1932, and was officially opened by the Chief Scout in the same year.
Between four hundred and five hundred scouts are in camp this week all over the North of England. Some of them are on their way to the World Rover Moot at Monzie Castle, Crieff. The sing song tonight takes place in a natural wooded amphitheatre, with the trunks of trees in place of the usual seats.
