A series of talks on a vital problem

Not so many years ago, the Rhondda Valley was one of the richest areas of its size in the world. In all the South Wales and Monmouthshire valleys and ports the signs of prosperity were clear to see. The picture is a very different one today. This new series of talks will throw some light on this unhappy metamorphosis, and in turn a representative of each component part of the industry will present a point of view.

It will of necessity be an individual point of view, but it may help to shed some light on the whole problem. The choice of the Foreign Buyer to open the series is a natural one, in view of the fact that the Welsh coal trade is mainly an export one, and therefore it is a foreign buyer who is the biggest customer.
