Meet the Radnor Folk

A land of ' forest ' or downs, widely scattered sheep-farms on the hills, and small towns, Radnorshire is the least-known county in Wales. It is also the most sparsely populated -there are fewer than fifty people to the square mile. 
It is predominantly a sheep-rearing county. Its famous flocks crowd the fairs and markets of the border towns. Many of the old country crafts survive, and wheelwrights, blacksmiths, hedgers, and ditchers are to be seen at work there today. 
The county has its own dialect of English, but the Welsh language has almost disappeared. Welsh sentiment and traditions persist, however, and, though the English border is so near, one never doubts that one is still in Wales. 
In this programme, the Radnor folk will speak for themselves-two farmers, a blacksmith, a wheelwright, a roadman, and a postman.
