In this programme by the Dowlais United Choir there are several works by Welsh composers. The choir is one of the best known in Wales, and the conductor, D. T. Davies , has led it to victories in the Eisteddfod on many occasions. In fact, he has figured as prize-winning conductor at National Eisteddfodau four times -with the Dowlais Ladies' Choir, which took the chief awards at Treorchy in 1928, at Neath in 1934, and at Caernarvon in 1935, and with the Dowlais United Choir, which is to be heard today, at Fishguard in 1936. Concertgoers will remember a recital given by this choir at Queen's Hall in the autumn last year.
