' The Choral Society '
John R. Allan and D. W. Jack
This series, which should appeal especially to country listeners and also interest town listeners who are curious about the resources of country life, has been planned in collaboration with Mr. L. E. G. Laughton of the Carnegie Trust. The aim is to investigate various ways in which village life may be enlarged by social activity.
John R. Allan , author of ' Farmer's
Boy ' and well known as a writer on Scottish country life, will question an expert and a novice on each subject. He has already taken listeners into the secrets of running a village council and a branch of the W.R.I., and future subjects will include dramatic societies, young farmers' clubs, wireless discussion groups, a county library, and the village hall.
