Every year the Scottish National Players tour Scotland with a programme of Scottish plays, none of which is . a greater favourite than John Brandane 's one act comedy Rory Aforesaid. Few more amusing court scenes can have been written for the stage than this play, in which the defendant, accused of sheep-stealing, replies to the prosecution's questions with a 'baa '. John H. Craigen portrays a sheriff faced with the difficult task of dispensing justice in the Highlands and Islands.
