The Glen is Mine, one of the best Scots comedies ever written, was first performed by the Scottish National Players in the Athenaeum Theatre in 1923, under the direction of Andrew P. Wilson. The play deals with the unsuccessful attempts of Captain Charlie to obtain Angus MacKinnon 's croft for the construction of a water dam which is needed to work certain deposits of iron ore. 
Angus, however, regards the glen in which his croft is situated as his own. It was his father's before him, it is his, and he will not give it up. The play, however, has a happy ending and the curtain goes down to the tune of The Glen is Mine.
