2—'Using the Lips '
This afternoon thousands of little mirrors will be propped up on Scottish desks to show children how they use their lips in speaking such sentences as Put the soap over on the bath
' Peter pulled the parrot off its perch ', 'The baby's robe has pale blue ribbon bows on it', 'The boys beat the girls at composition and spelling, but the girls are better than the boys at repeating poetry', and ' Purple pansies bloom in the border beneath Betty's window.' If the mirrors are not too dim after these repetitions, they may go on to a little poem :—
! Up in the bright blue sky
Where plump little baby clouds float,
Birds borne on brave wings fly,
Blithe sounds each piping bird note.' a.30 Interval
