John Brown
A few weeks ago Northern listeners were asked to tell the BBC which of the speakers in the popular 'Slices of Life' series of talks they liked the best and wished to hear again. The replies showed clearly that John Brown, the young worker who a few years ago accepted Lord Nuffield's challenge to go to Russia and 'see for himself'; Bernard Mark, who in his broadcast told how a foundling had 'got on'; and Tamar Hoggarth, the remarkable old lady from the Yorkshire village of Great Barugh, were at the top of the list.
These three, then, are to be heard again. John Brown is on the air tonight and the other two are to be heard during the next fortnight.
