Ella Pounder ' is a musician best known in the North-East. Her training ,was principally at the Royal Academy and the Royal College of Music. She has been the winner in many open piano classes' at leading musical festivals in the North and in London, and is a gold medallist of 'best instrumentalist' classes at Newcastle-on-Tyne and London.
For a few seasons she was the organist of the Middlesbrough Modern Music Circle, being rtsponsible for concerts of modern chamber music. She has been the conductor of the Apollo Male Voice Choir, and has the honour of being the first woman to give a recital on the organ of Middlesbrough's Town Hall.
