A ten-minute test set by P. Caton
Baddeley Here is another chance for listeners with a good general knowledge to shine in a competition for the family circle. The questions will cover a variety of subjects, and at the end the catechist will read the answers so that listeners may mark their own Papers.
There will be no studio competitors ; listeners armed with pencils and paper will be the only ones sitting for the examination.

Johann Strauss , arr. Goldstein Maurice Arnold , who is this summer playing in Jan Hurst 's orchestra on the South Pier, Blackpool, is a pianist of great versatility. His work is of a high standard, whether he is playing modern ballroom tunes or serious classical music. He has had much broadcasting experience, and some of his best qualities are shown in the difficult art of accompanying, of which he has done a good deal. He used to play at the Whitby Spa, and also had a season at Harrogate.
