The choirs taking part in this special concert were selected this afternoon by auditions from thirty-five prize choirs. Eleven Northern and Midland counties contributed to the rally, an annual event held today for the first time.
The choirs-men's, women's, and mixed-have won some 350 first prizes at open competitive musical festivals.
