Charities, as well as audiences who love good singing, owe a great deal to the Radcliffe choir. Having been formed in December, 1921, to cultivate a taste for good music and to help the cause of charity, this band of Lancashire singers raised their first £100 for Bury Infirmary within eighteen months. Many other public institutions have benefited from their concert proceeds. The Blackpool music festivals find the choir among the most regular and successful visitors, and they have a fine record of five first prizes and one second prize in seven festivals.
