An eye-witness account of the meeting between England, Scotland, and Ireland, by James Craig
The triangular athletic contest to be described by James Craig has been held today in Dublin and is really a revival of a meeting that first began before the war. The original contest, in which England, Scotland, and Ireland competed, appears to have been held in Glasgow in 1914, and in this James Craig himself ran for Ireland. Before that year, a contest between Ireland and Scotland was held annually.
The war stopped these meetings until 1920, when they were begun again and held annually until 1929.
James Craig should have some closely-fought contests to describe tonight, for some really strong teams have been expected to compete in Dublin today.
