About sixty brass bands compete at this annual festival. It is in aid of the Royal Infirmary, Leicester, and is in its nineteenth year. The test piece for the championship section is the Academic Festival Overture by Brahms, arranged by Denis Wright. Herbert Bennett , of Glasgow, is the adjudicator for the. chief event.
