T. B. Pitfield was an engineer, until he was twenty-one, when he had saved up enough for a year's study at the Royal College of Music at Manchester. Finding it a hard struggle to make a living from teaching music, he qualified in Arts and Crafts at Bolton. After a short time in a Lancashire school, he settled in the Midlands. He is now Occupational Instructor to the Good Companions Club at Wolverhampton, and doing part-time teaching at Tettenhall College and Bilston Art School.
