SAMUEL UNDERWOOD 'S virginal was made in Venice in 1564, and is one of the oldest musical instruments still in use. It was heard in the first broadcast of a virginal from the Birmingham studio in June last. Mr. Underwood is conductor of the Gloucester Orpheus Choir.
