with THE B.B.C. DANCE ORCHESTRA
It is an established feature of most Guest Nights to invite artists from one of the shows running in town, and tonight some of the cast from the successful musical comedy Jill, Darling, at the Saville Theatre, are to come to the studio-among them Frances Day, Arthur Riscoe , Louise Browne , and Viola Tree.
Another guest will be the popular and indefatigable Philip Ridgeway of revue fame, supported by Delys Hen-die. Whilst one more certainty will be Lennington H. Shewell , who has made a microphone instrument of the theremin.
Shewell made a name for himself as a theremin player in America and Canada, and he gave a special programme to film stars in Ramon Novarro's private theatre in Los Angeles. It is claimed that the theremin is the only instrument that anyone may play without touching. The virtuoso playing it literally plays upon the strings of his heart.
