The quarter finals of the Benson and Hedges Cup. Commentary and reports on all four games throughout the day. Presented by Eleanor Oldroyd.
The eight teams in today's quarter-finals have come through by a different system this year. For the first 20 years, the lienson and Hedges Cup, started in 1972 to provide some early-season excitement, decided its quarter finalists from four small groups of round-robin matches. Last year's Murray report on the structure of English cricket recommended the knock-out format throughout, so this year's Cup winners will have played fewer matches than any of their predecessors, but will have to have won them all when they take the Gold Trophy at Lord's on July 10.
