Although ancient Wales was ruthlessly Puritan and took no cognizance of Lent, many practices handed down from Druidic times still survive during Holy Week. From time immemorial the celebration of Easter in Wales begins with Flower Sunday or the Sunday of the Flowers. The date coincides with Pahn Sunday, but the origin of the custom is quite distinct.
