The South Devon and East Cornwall Hospital now serves a population of approximately half a million. As its activities have increased, it has been found more and more difficult to accommodate all the patients and to find room for the necessary new consulting rooms and operating theatres. This extension scheme, which will cost £100,000, has been planned to remove all these difficulties, and will also provide for two additional wards to be added to the Royal Albert Hospital at Devonport.
