Mrs. WINIFRED SPIELMAN RAPHAEL : 'The Art of Easy Housekeeping '
THOUGH fifth in the series, this is the frst of Mrs.
Raphael's talks, which will number five. Mrs. Raphael is head of the Domestic Section of the Institute of Industrial Psychology, who are at present conducting an inquiry into many of the problems of domestic fatigue. Mrs. Raphael is, following upon their success in inquiries into the problems of industrial fatigue, anxious to enlist the aid of listeners in finding out exactly which part of a woman's household duties causes the most fatigue, either mental or physical. Four of her talks, therefore, will discuss the various aspects of the problem, and the fifth will deal with points that have arisen from listeners' letters.

Concert Ovevture Cherubini
(Composed for the Philharmonic Concerts in 1815) A BRILLIANT pianist and organist as well as composer, Joseph Jongen was born at Liege in 1873, and studied music at the Conservatoire there. He competed twice for the Prix de Rome, the first time in 1895, when he gained the second prize, and again two years later, winning the coveted award with his Cantata Comala.
In the same year the Belgian Academy awarded him another prize for a Pianoforte Trio. Jongen then gave up the post of assistant Professor in the counterpoint class of the Liege Conservatoire, in order to travel in Germany, France and Italy. The Suite, Tableaux Pittoresques, was written during his stay in this country.
