A week that includes Guy Fawkes day and Dr. Dale's birthday is usually a happy one for the family, but this year it is clouded by the death of Mrs. Devenish. This in itself is a matter of concern to Dr...Dale but things are made worse for him by Arthur Devenish 's threats about what he is noing to say at the resumed inquest. He has even thought about resigning from the practice if things should go badly for him.
