Richard Fulton told the Dales he would pay all expenses for a holiday for Sally when she left the nursing-home. They decided she should go to Mrs. Dale's villa in Italy, accompanied by Violet Hichens. Sally appeared to be getting better. Mrs. McGussie's son, Roy, went to King's Acre to try and persuade her to return home, but without success. Dr. Claughton had supper with the Dales and she and Mrs. Dale became more friendly.
