Overture: The Sicilian Vespers Verdi E. J. Moeran 's Overture for a Masque, which is being given its first broadcast performance this evening, was specially written for ENSA's factory concerts and has already been performed on many occasions in the North of England. The masque was an entertainment that combined poetry, vocal and instrumental music, dancing, set against a brilliant decor, and this overture is intended to suggest the atmosphere of such an entertainment.
