Over six weeks, this intimate story follows the fortunes of two adult females, Kidogo and Fundi, as they strive to raise their offspring.Kenya's Masai Mara offers rich pickings for an experienced, efficient hunter. But Kidogo is neither: she is a young mother with much to learn, and at only two months, her cubs are very vulnerable.For the second cheetah, Fundi, motherhood has moved on. She is older, as are her cubs. No longer is she merely the provider; now she must pass on the secrets of stalking and the high speed chase. For the naive and clumsy cubs there is much to be learned.For Kidogo, Fundi and their cubs the Masai Mara provides both home and a well-stocked larder, but it bristles with danger. Lions, leopards and hyenas are opportunists - ever on the look-out for a cheetah's kill to steal. The cheetah may be the fastest of the cats, but speed has come at a price and the intimidating heavyweight hunters pose an ever-present threat to the future of the cheetah cubs.
