Archie's threats escalate, but Ronnie has graver concerns on her mind. Meanwhile, Stacey makes a hard decision about her future and Pat makes a shock announcement.

Bradley is desperately looking for a job but is not having much luck. Stacey and Roxy catch up in the café and they reminisce about Sean and how different things were a year ago. 

With the Mitchells on the verge of losing everything to Archie, a livid Phil knocks at Ian’s front door shouting at Ian for selling out the Mitchells and Ian’s own brother Ben.

Guilty and harassed, Ian goes to Archie - he makes an offer to buy back the Vic loan. Archie tells Ian to come back later once he has thought about it. Later, Ian enters the cafe and asks Archie if he has reached a decision but Janine bluntly informs Ian that the loan is not for sale.

Speaking to Peggy, Phil and Roxy, Ronnie demands the Vic is open at 5pm saying it is the busiest time of the year. Phil, however, spots a problem; there is no beer to sell but Ronnie soon finds a solution.  Ronnie, now feeling positive about the future of the Vic, suggests to Peggy that rather than hiding away from the punters, facing them would be a wiser decision. 

Peggy visits Pat and tells her how she thinks people are laughing at her. Pat questions Peggy’s fighting spirit and inspires her to challenge Archie. Whilst handing out raffle tickets, they bump into Archie and Janine. Peggy handles the situation by announcing that everyone is welcome in the Vic for the Christmas Eve party. 

Ronnie returns from shopping to find Peggy has dressed up for the grand re-opening. Following an initially slow start, the Vic soon fills up and Manda takes to the piano and leads a sing-song.

Ricky tells Peggy that something is happening outside that she needs to see. The Mitchells head outside to find Peggy’s name removed from above the door which has been replaced with Archie’s name. As the family re-enter the Vic they find Archie and Janine at the bar. Archie now has the paperwork to declare that the Mitchells are trespassing on his land. 

Ronnie states the family will not give up the Vic without a fight and orders them both out of the pub. As Ronnie moves towards Archie, he pushes her against the bar. In the commotion, Roxy blurts out that Ronnie is pregnant.  Shortly after Ronnie tells Peggy she is going to bed for an early night. As she heads upstairs, she suddenly doubles over in agony – will Ronnie’s baby survive?

Pat makes several attempts to convey her earlier news again but both Ricky and Bianca are in too much of a rush to listen.  Whitney and Bianca later invite Ryan to experience a Jackson Christmas dinner. Bianca returns home to find Pat has packed her bags and is about to leave. She is travelling to New Zealand for a couple of weeks which Bianca gets upset about, claiming Christmas may as well be cancelled.  

Meanwhile Christian gives Jane details about his affair with Syed and Jane, in return, lists the possible consequences of his actions. Later, at Christian’s flat, Christian says to Jane that Syed finished the affair a couple of weeks ago. Jane is pleased but is horrified to find Christian has bought tickets to Barcelona for himself and Syed so she maintains she cannot support him.

She imagines two separate realities, one where Gaz is back to full health and one where he is paralysed. Both possibilities are followed in parallel, which take very differing paths. 

How will fully-fit Gaz respond to the news that Donna may not want children in the future? Or that he may not have any friends? How will paralysed Gaz cope with being in a wheelchair, with the prospect that he may never walk again? How does this reflect on their relationship and can Donna really take either of these consequences?

Julia Bradbury examines attitudes to Christmas meat - where it comes from, how it is raised, how it gets onto the plate and the history of people's eating choices.

Every year in the run up to Christmas, millions of birds are killed for yuletide dinner tables. In a huge national mass cull that begins in November and has a deadline of December 25th, more than 10 million turkeys and nearly half a million geese are slaughtered. Many of these will come from huge factory farms working intensely for this time of year.
 
Julia Bradbury examines our attitude to Christmas meat - where it comes from, how it is raised, how it gets to your plate and the history around our eating choices.

In a specially constructed restaurant-cum-studio built around a poultry abattoir unit, invited guests watch as the birds are brought in for killing. They are stunned, bled, de-feathered and gutted before their eyes by experienced professional slaughtermen. The birds are then butchered and part of their flesh is cooked and eaten in the studio by the audience.

Eight geese and turkeys are brought for slaughter from farms in Lancashire and Essex. The slaughter process continues as normal and each of the birds is checked by an inspector from the meat hygiene service, while a leading veterinary surgeon gives a running commentary of events.

The audience participates by eating some of the cooked poultry and discussing their attitudes to the trade in mass produced birds versus those from smaller farms.

Can parents of spoilt teenagers and twentysomethings reverse the years of over-indulging and mollycoddling?  

Thanks to them their kids are bone idle, workshy and devoid of life skills. Now these parents have had enough. They want to fast-track their overprotected brats into fully functioning, independent adults, using real life challenges, in just four weeks.

With the prize of a round-the-world trip on offer, these eight 17 to 25 year olds give up their home comforts for a house in South East London where they must fend for themselves for the first time - cooking, cleaning and, worst of all for them, working. Each episode, the most useless kid is ejected by the people who made them what they are: their parents. 

The four remaining kids - Dogan, Dina, Sean and Danielle - are forced to return to school to learn the ultimate lesson in responsibility when they are put in charge of two classes of nine-year-old children.  

Danielle has been living off nothing but instant noodles, takeaways and energy drinks, and consequently is suffering from one almighty blockage. Thanks to Dogan and the support of her housemates and the best laxatives London has to offer, she manages to experience relief after 17 days.  

At school, Sean and Dina sail through the challenge, whereas Dogan and Danielle suffer their worst nightmare. Dogan struggles from the outset, convinced he is never going to be able to carry out the task. With the help of the teacher, he manages to conquer his nerves and, to his huge surprise, makes it through the day.

Danielle decides to teach the kids about Princess Diana, which leads to considerable confusion among the kids when they put on their performance for the parents and the school at the end of the day.

To help the parents ascertain how much genuine progress their little cherubs have made over the previous four weeks, they enlist the help of professional lifecoach Matthew Stone.  

The flats they make over are on behalf of youth charity Kids Company, who offer a one-off opportunity for vulnerable young people to improve their living conditions. They have one day to complete the project, and 1,000 pounds for materials and furniture.  

Dogan throws himself wholeheartedly into the task, whereas Dina struggles to manage her team of ten volunteers. Danielle hands over the reins to her mentor Rene halfway through the day, relinquishing any responsibility for team leadership.

The overall winner is then announced.
