New series 1/3. Veteran broadcaster David Jacobs pays tribute to legendary wartime singer Vera Lynn , who celebrates her 90th birthday on 20 March. Crowned the Forces' Sweetheart for symbolising Britain's fighting spirit at a time of great strife and despair, Lynn remains best known for two signature recordings - We'll Meet Again (1939) and the 1942 hit (There'll Be Bluebirds over) The White Cliffs of Dover. Other defining songs include Yours (1941), Auf Wiederseh'n Sweetheart (1952) and the 1954 number one hit My Son, My Son. The series features a new and exclusive interview with the down-to-earth star.
