It's Been a Bad Week 10.00pm R2
Ask someone to name a good and recent radio comedy series and you'll probably get Dead Ringers, I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, Just a Minute or The News Quiz as an answer. Well, Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis's series is up there with the best of them - it just happens to be on a network more famed for its music and chat. If you've not caught it before, let me set the scene: the double act are joined by some other comedians (Jon Culshaw and Sue Perkins have both been regulars) to review the week's news and reach the point where the audience can decide which of the left-of-field stories really encapsulates a bad week. In the last series, for example, contenders for the title included "a four-man civil war" and "the multiple wrong telephone number Guinness Book of Records man". My favourite, though, was Chris Hoyle, a Doctor Who fan who is making a low-budget film about the time traveller, set in Leeds and starring one Chris Hoyle. He's built his own Tardis out of cardboard, you know...
