Dave Gelly gives his appraisal of the singing career of the Mills
Brothers. Like all long-lived groups they changed over the years - from the four clever and versatile boys of the 1930s to sentimental crooners of the war years, and then to the slick swingers of the 50s. As late as 1968 they were still having hit singles.
Over the years there was hardly a big singing star that hadn't shared a microphone with them, but the first and longest relationship of this kind was with Bing Crosby. Producer Barbara Page
