The Life and Times of Sir Noël Coward
6: From ' Private Lives to Cavalcade '
The years 1929 to 1931 were perhaps the most successful and certainly the most productive of Coward's entire career: with Bitter Sweet established on both sides of the Atlantic, he went on in quick succession to write and star in Private Lives and to write and stage Cavalcade. These two shows are this week recalled by members of their original casts, and scenes from Cavalcade are given a new studio production. Including JOHN MILLS, LORD OLIVIER, ADRI-ANNI ALLEN , ROBERT STE PHENS, MARGARET ROBERTSON. JENNY TILL , JOHN RYE , and the voices of GERTRUDE LAWRENCE and SIR NOËL COWARD .
Written and narrated by Sheridan Morley
