In a week's time the 1976 Olympic Games will be opened in Montreal by HM The Queen. For the 11,000 competitors expected to take part. the final week will be one of increasing tension, the culmination of four years' intense preparation.
Sport on 2 captures the very special atmosphere of Montreal. meeting the personalities visiting the city. and also taking a hard look at Britain's prospects of winning medals. Joining the BBC Radio team will be Olympic champion Mary Peters, and Terry Wogan, who presents his early morning show live from Montreal on Monday before flying back to London to present Olympic Nightride which starts on Radio 2 on Sunday 18 July and runs throughout the Games.
