Dr. Dale's retirement continues to have repercussions, particularly at the practice, where Monica Harvey has intimated she may leave; he has announced that he will not choose his successor-the partners must decide- among themselves. Roddy has been wearing his best suit. and Lois has gone on pushing Neville. Jenny has been upset because Alison Craig cooked dinner at The Shelling, and Bob has caused a minor crisis by telling Mrs. Freeman that Jenny will be starting a very demanding job when her play finishes. After an unexpected meeting with Adam York. Ian Trevelyan has told Guy Roberts that he is walking out of Gwen's life for good.
