An unhappy week in Exton. The death of Mrs. Fothergill, peacefully in her sleep, has particularly affected Mrs. Freeman and Lois Jackson. Neville and Lois, in the absence of any relatives, have assumed the responsibility for Mrs. Fothergill's funeral arrangements and the sorting through of her effects. They have come across a will that has no legal standing, in which Mrs. Fothergill left her house to Lois and Neville. Ruby and Sydney have been defrauded of £15 by a couple who let them a flat they did not own. And on top of everything Pup, Dr. Dale's dog. has died.
