He explores the 70s soul scene and its north-south divide with Chris Hill of Canvey Island's Goldmine and Ian Levine of the Blackpool Mecca, not forgetting the Wigan Casino. Saturday Night Fever then knocked the soul scene dead and it split into the underground worlds of jazz-funk and high energy.
