[Article] Peter Powell on Radio 1
'The thing about being a DJ on Radio 1 is, it forces you to think national. You really have to be aware of the feeling up and down the country - know what's happening on the disco floor, as it were. There's always a terrible danger that a DJ gets too involved with the music itself, and starts to preach to people. Pretty soon he gets self-indulgent and forgets he's there to entertain his listeners. What I'm aiming for is a gentle, mainly-music show with a dash of sparkle on a Sunday.' 10.0am-1.0pm
