The English zoologist and neurophysiologist John Zachary Young explores the function of the brain, the way it facilitates communication between human beings, and the current scientific methods used to further our understanding of its capacity, in his Reith lecture series entitled 'Doubt and Certainty in Science'. 

In his final lecture, entitled 'Made in What Image?', J Z Young examines the way in which scientific models are being applied, not just to the world, but to us as people, and especially to our brains. He wants us to find further ways to stimulate us to make further investigations about the brain, since our greater knowledge about its potential has already considerably altered the way we speak about ourselves.
