The Christian Church claims that it was commissioned by Jesus himself to continue his work on earth. It sees itself as 'The Body of Christ'. But how do those outside its ranks see it? For that matter, how do ordinary church-goers see it? This Lent something like a million people in groups up and down Britain have been joining in a study course organised by the churches in association with Local Radio stations, called What on Earth is the Church For?
