In August 1942 the largest. most heavily escorted and perhaps the most savagely attacked convoy of the war sailed from Britain to relieve the besieged island of Malta. This play, set aboard a British merchant vessel carrying a cargo of ammunition and aviation spirit, has been specially written as a tribute to some of those who took part in Operation Pede.stal.
