Inveraray stands on the shores of Loch Fvne. Nearby is Inveraray Castle. seat of the Dukes of Argyll, standing in spacious grounds. There had been a small community at Inveraray from the Middle Ages, but it was only after the Reformation that enlightened Dukes sought to build it up in an attempt to introduce Lowland trades and skills into the Highlands. Today with a population of about 500 it is still a crossroads. David Kellas became minister in 1966.
