First transmitted in 1970, this edition takes a zigzag trip along the length of the UK by helicopter,  from the South West of England to the north of the Shetland Isles.

The route takes us past the granite cliffs of Lundy, ruined Welsh abbeys and cyclists on the Isle of Man. Before heading up to the Hebrides, Orkney and out towards the Shetland Isles to journey's end, the lighthouse on Muckle Flugga.
