Alvar Lidell -2
ROGER CLARK concludes his talk with the BBC's longest serving radio announcer. This week Alvar Lidell recalls the war years, the time an enemy voice interrupted the nine o'clock news, his Battle of Britain announcement, making a gramophone record with Gerald Moore , announcing on the Light Programme, his threat to resign and the start of the Third Programme. He also has some sharp criticism of modern news presentation and explains why he thinks the BBC is broadcasting too much music.
