The English cellist whose glittering career was tragically cut short by multiple sclerosis would have turned 60 this year. This celebration of her life and work includes two award-winning films by Christopher Nupen. In 1967's Jacqueline, the 22-year-old virtuoso gives a typically passionate performance of Elgar's haunting Cello Concerto, accompanied by the New Philharmonia Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim , her husband. And in 1969's The Trout. du Pré joins Itzhak Perlman , Daniel Barenboim , Zubin Mehta and Pinchas Zukerman for Schubert's Trout Quintet.
