Judy, John, Svitlana and Oksana are seeking answers to life-changing questions via DNA.

Judy looks for her missing father, who was deported after World War II, presumed dead. John questions his ancestry, and Ukrainian sisters Svitlana and Oksana look for family in Britain.

Judy’s father, a Chinese mariner who risked his life to help protect Britain during World War II, was one of thousands forcibly deported by the government after the war whose families believe they may have been killed. Judy wants to know the truth.

Meanwhile, Glaswegian journalist John is questioning the story his mother told him about his Italian student father. And having arrived in the UK as refugees from Ukraine, sisters Svitlana and Oksana are desperate to find family that fled to the UK many years ago.
