Carianne has a cattle journey across a tidal sandbar; Jenni’s alpacas get a haircut.

Jenni’s alpacas get their annual short back and sides, the MacDonald’s cattle make an epic journey across a tidal sandbar, while Nikki and Ollie down tools for Gala Day. 

Summer is in full swing. In the Cairngorms, Robert’s cattle get their first taste of freedom and fresh grass, while Jenni’s alpacas need a short back and sides from a specialist shearer. 

In North Uist, the herd is being prepared for an epic journey across a tidal sandbar, linking the stunning island of Vallay to the mainland and the croft’s bulls. And in Moray, Nikki and Ollie are at last about to complete one of their holiday pods. It’s a challenge juggling farm work and a full-time job off the farm, but the big summer gala in their neighbouring village is a chance to down tools.
