Boris Johnson’s ethics adviser Lord Geidt resigns, Sri Lanka faces its worst economic crisis in more than 70 years, and it’s 50 years since the Watergate scandal led to President Nixon’s resignation.

Boris Johnson’s ethics adviser, Lord Geidt, has resigned after the prime minister forced him into an 'impossible and odious' position. He is the second ethics adviser to quit under Mr Johnson’s premiership. Sri Lanka faces its worst economic crisis since it gained independence in 1948 and is now in the grip of severe food and fuel shortages. Is the island nation simply the first to fall? And 50 years on from the Watergate scandal, actor Harry Shearer and historian Margaret O’Mara discuss the downfall of President Nixon.
