Tom Kerridge judges for one week only as six home cooks make the ultimate family pie.

Tom Kerridge joins the judging line up for one week, as six home cooks make the ultimate family pie.

It's the quarter-final and the remaining six home cooks are in for a surprise as for one week only, Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge joins the judging line up in Angela Hartnett's place.

Mary gives the quarter-finalists a challenge to cook their ultimate family pie, and it must be fully encased in pastry that they have made from scratch. This is a tricky challenge, and the cooks feel additional pressure as Tom is renowned for being a pie expert. 

For the rustle-up challenge, Chris has chosen a root vegetable that’s more usually served as a side dish, but now the cooks must make it the star of the show. 

The eliminator is set by Tom, and he announces that it’s a recipe close to his heart that he expects to be executed perfectly.
