Is switching off the TV better for family life?

Is switching off the TV better for family life? The retired teacher changing lives in Malawi and the Scottish writer whose family has a dark Nazi past.

Conservative MP Jeremy Lefroy has urged families to switch off their TVs and play games together. Stressing the importance of "family time and meal times" in a Westminster Hall Debate he claimed that TV and social media stops families from talking to each other and went on to say that family breakdown was overlooked as a cause of mental health problems in children.
