Today, the veteran judge faces a difficult decision as one chef is sent home.

Creative culinary competition. One chef will go home and the veteran judge finds himself with a very difficult decision to make.

In this year's Great British Menu, the chefs are competing to cook at the ultimate banquet held the Palace of Westminster. In the year of the Queen's 90th birthday, the chefs are celebrating the everyday great Britons who have been honoured for their extraordinary achievements. The challenge is to create dishes that are a fitting legacy to the modern Elizabethan age, creating food that represent the complete transformation in British cuisine during the Queen's reign.

This week, three chefs from Scotland are fighting to be crowned champion. Today, one chef will go home and the veteran judge finds himself with a very difficult decision to make.

Inventive chef Michael Bremner is recreating the Scottish desserts of his childhood inspired by a local hero honoured by the Queen. Adam Handling is sticking with his trademark Asian flavours to create a modern take on a lemon meringue pie. And Ally McGrath is tempering chocolate for the very first time - it is a rollercoaster dessert course for all three chefs and there are some explosions in the kitchen.
